Is being gay wrong?

First, I want everyone to know that this is not a “gay bashing.” I really want to know what you think.  In today’s society lines are becoming more blurry on what is right and what is wrong.  I will tell you what I believe and would love to her your opinions.

Here is what I believe.  I believe homosexuality is wrong according to the Word of God.  With that said…I don’t fell that homosexuality is any different that adultery.  That is right the Pastor who cheated on his wife with his secretary is just as much as a sinner as a homosexual.  Basically I believe that homosexuality is a sin but no different from any other sin that we commit.  It only takes one sin to separate one eternally from God.

So whether your sin is homosexuality, adultery or lying it doesn’t matter to God.  They all deserve separation from God.  No matter where you find yourself the important thing is that you have a relationship with God and you commit yourself to ending your lifestyle of Sin.  To find out more about a relationship with Jesus and how to stop the lifestyle of sin click here.

Tell me what you think…is being gay wrong?

Yes, being gay is wrong. I agree with you that it is no worse than any other sin. All sin is equal in God’s eyes. If you are homosexual, it is a lifestyle CHOICE, not something you are born with. If we go with the theory that anything that makes a person happy is okay, then the serial killer is okay. He enjoys killing people. However, most people realize that is not okay. There has to be a moral code to follow~ absolute truth. The bottom line is that homosexuality is a sin in God’s eyes. Period.

According to the scripture, homosexuality is a sin just like fornication outside of marriage, or drunkenness, or prostitution, or stealing, or murder.

That said, a common mistake among Christians is to see the sin & not the sinner! We need to love gay people in spite of their sin, just as Christ loved us in spite of ours.

Whenever dealing with anyone’s sin… we must never forget our own!

Matt… right on. Judy, I appreciate what you’re saying, but be careful. It’s irresponsible to compare gay people to serial killers. It’s also irresponsible to say it’s only a choice and there is no biology at work. You can’t say that for sure. The reality of the fall is that everything in the fallen world is damaged, right down to our DNA. So it’s possible that just as there are genetic predispositions to certain behaviors such as alcoholism, there could be a genetic disposition toward same-sex attraction. It hasn’t been proven or disproven at this point. The issue at hand is that no matter the sin, we are all predisposed toward sinful behavior. It’s a matter of what we do with that urge to sin, how we choose to react to our biology or circumstances, etc that determines our sinfulness. Having a same-sex attraction is a difficult cross to bear, and those struggling with that should be afforded an extra measure of grace by those who may have an easier road to the cross. We should be quick to love, not quick to judge. Is acting out homosexual urges wrong, yes it is according to the Word of God. But a gossip is just as worthy of judgment. Thank God for grace, because none of us deserves it!

There is a deeper issue at work here. Sin is more than sin we commit. It is what we are born into. It is the disposition of the human heart. What we are examining through asking the question of whether or not being gay is wrong is really an expression of the root of all “sins”: idolatry.
Romans 1 lays this out clearly. The outward expression of being gay is rooted in exchanging the clear truth about God for a lie. What we fail to realize is that sexuality is directly related to the nature of God. Male and Female were created collectively in the image of God. When they come together in the act of marriage, they are painting a picture of the oneness that is experienced in the Trinity. Homosexuality is the rejection of God’s design in favor of something else. An improper view of the role of sex in marriage is sin as well.
I would agree with the above poster that the question of biology is a moot point. We must forgo this argument in favor of the idea of with rather than for or against. As much as we do life with those who struggle in their marriages or with lyin, we must seek to do the same with those who are gay or transgendered.

Everything that those ahead of stated is true; the Bible states that if you sin in one you have sinned in all. So if you slipped by lying you have sinned in all. IN regards to what Judy said about it being a lifestyle choice; that is true also God has given us all the right to choose and make our own decisions. Unfortunately, the devil has wrapped a horrible sin up and has given it as a gift; deceiving people into believing that it is okay to live that lifestyle. That if it feels good do it. BUT the Bible states that one should not make decisions/speak based upon what they feel (emotions). Therefore one should live their life according to what is stated according to the word of God. Now in regards to what Travis has stated that it is possible that there could be a genetic predisposition. That is totally false and I cut that down in Jesus name. God stated in His holy word that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. The devil will try to get people to think this way in order to bring some justification to homosexual activity only so that he can bring more people to hell with him. Therefore homosexuality is a sin and every sin is bad in the sight of God. The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the holy spirit.

Anyway we must have love for people despite the way that they live. That is what Jesus did and if we are to be true servants of the Lord we must do the same. God bless.

BEING GAY IS NOT WRONG!!!… There is no reason why two people of the same sex can’t be in love with each other, You guys need to grow up… What if it’s YOU that are wrong? What if it’s wrong for a man to love a women or for a women to love a man… You need to stop judging people… Why make someone unhappy. If they are happy with each other then let them be, I don’t see any thing wrong with being gay… I love being gay.

Ok, so i support all gays, lesbians, and bisexuals…..They do not choose to be gay….also in the Bible it states that a disobeidient child is to be put to death, and a woman who is not a virgin on her wedding day shall be taken to her father’s house and stoned to death, and and that if a man lies with another man they shall be put to death….HUH?! doesnt the Bible also say that killing is WRONG!? Lets not forget the Golden Rule “treat others as you would want to be treated”. One last thing….. Gays do not want to corrupt or convert children or anyone for that matter yet the church and all the other religions constantly wish to convert people to their point of view because they think that they are inerant..once more to the bible “nobody is perfect”, Thats all im done…. Thanks!

I appreciate everyone’s opinion. I want to stress again, that having a relationship with Jesus is the utmost important action anyone could take. I would challenge everyone that you should take your questions to the Bible and see what it has to say about this issue. A good website to read the Bible is http://www.youversion.com
