Lake Waubesa Bible Camp

I will be out this next week speaking at a youth camp in Wisconsin.  Please be pray that God will use me in a big way not to bring attention to me but to the one who changes lives, Jesus.  Also pray for the students that will be attending the camp.  I believe if we do not want to become a post Christian nation we must experience an awakening in our youth.  Thanks in advance for your prayers.

Is being gay wrong?

First, I want everyone to know that this is not a “gay bashing.” I really want to know what you think.  In today’s society lines are becoming more blurry on what is right and what is wrong.  I will tell you what I believe and would love to her your opinions.

Here is what I believe.  I believe homosexuality is wrong according to the Word of God.  With that said…I don’t fell that homosexuality is any different that adultery.  That is right the Pastor who cheated on his wife with his secretary is just as much as a sinner as a homosexual.  Basically I believe that homosexuality is a sin but no different from any other sin that we commit.  It only takes one sin to separate one eternally from God.

So whether your sin is homosexuality, adultery or lying it doesn’t matter to God.  They all deserve separation from God.  No matter where you find yourself the important thing is that you have a relationship with God and you commit yourself to ending your lifestyle of Sin.  To find out more about a relationship with Jesus and how to stop the lifestyle of sin click here.

Tell me what you think…is being gay wrong?

I broke my first toilet

I broke my first toilet seat a few weeks ago and man was it a trip.  I was speaking at a youth camp in a remote part of Missouri and one night before I was going to speak I was going to take care of business in the bathroom.  I was using the bathroom and reading my Bible when all of a sudden I felt the toilet seat shift.  I really didn’t know what happened until I stood up and saw the toilet seat in two pieces.  It was truely a unquie experience and yes I did use it as an illustration that night.  I was reminded of Matthew 7:24-27 where Jesus told the story of the man who built his house on the rocks vs. the sand.  When the rain and floods came the man who build on the rock was secure and the other man who built on the sand was not sable and the house was destroyed.  Simply put, is your life built on rock or sand.  When the storms of life comes with your house crumble with the waves or will it stand strong and withhold the winds?  If you would like to know how to have a solid foundation in your life read this.

What I Learned at Camp!

I recently had the opportunity to speak at a camp in Missouri and here is what I learned.

1.  Outdoor tabernacles still exist and they are HOT!!
2. Toilet seats can break just by sitting on them. (ask and i will explain)
3. Students today want to be challenged with the Word.
4. God can work despite your defects.
5. You can learn a lot about life and God from an afternoon swim at the pool.
6. I Love spending time with my family.
7. 100 degrees without a breeze really means 110.
8. Coffee is still good in extreme heat.
9. My wife is the best!
10. There is such a thing as a Happy, Gospel-Preaching Calvinist (in other words not all Calvinist are angry)!!

Going to the studio!!!

Don’t worry I am not cutting a new album. Although I am building a vintage telecaster (pictures to come soon). I am heading to the studio to start recording 1 minute commericals that will start to air on radio sometime in the first part of 08. These commercials will be quick illustrations that use everyday life experiences that show the love of Christ and they will point people to a website www.livebeyond.com. This website will share the message of Christ through video and it will allow people an opportunity to connect with churches in their area.

hopeless disaster

I had an opportunity tonight to speak to a young man that has been through a lot in his life. He told me of times when we did not have anyone in his life that would show him the little things in life. Basically this young man has struggled with the life of Drugs and he has been in and out of the detention centers his entire teenage life. He mentioned that he did not have any hope for a future and that he was destined to fail. As I continued to talk with him I noticed that there was a recurring theme in his story. His mom was never in the picture and his dad could not even be considered a dad. As I continued to listen to his story I couldn’t help but think of all the boys and girls who end up in this same chair that he was in tonight. As he finished up his story I asked if I could repeat what I heard him say. This was a good choice because I could tell that he has built a huge wall up around his heart because of all the hurt he has experienced in his life. As I was repeating his story to him I summed up stating that is seems like he has experienced a huge void in his childhood due to not having parents that care. As I finished that statement you his head dropped down with his elbows on his knees you could see the tears welling up inside. I continued to say that I knew this was a huge part of his life that he has not dealt with and you could see a sigh of relief come over him. It was almost like that wall fell down immediately. I shared with him that Jesus is the only one that can feel that emptiness that he felt inside. I continued to share that he could experience true peace in his life with a relationship with Jesus. Even though he did not accept Jesus tonight, the seed was definitely planted and I am going to continue to share the truth with this young man.
